JK - Tanzania is secular state

THE government on Wednesday reiterated that it is not aligned with any religion and called for unity among different spiritual sects in the country to enhance harmony.

Addressing Muslims during an Idd el- Fitr Baraza in Dodoma, President Jakaya Kikwete said it was only through co-operation that religious institutions can effectively participate in national development and the country's peace and stability will be maintained.

President Kikwete encouraged constant communication and advised religious leaders to revive the system of inter-faith contacts, a move that will help remove differences and place all denominations on equal footing.

"When you always talk you will never fight and amicable decisions are always reached through discussions - this will also help ensure the best ways for you to conduct your religious duties," he explained.

President Kikwete said he was troubled by religious leaders using their time to disparage other religions, noting that this will put the country's peace at stake.

He said the country does not have a national religion where everyone must follow, noting that everyone is entitled to freedom of worship.

"I am saying this from the bottom of my heart; the government has this stand because it acknowledges the position and importance of religions in contributing to the development of the country," he stressed.

Under the 1992 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), President Kikwete said the government will extend assistance to religions that have requested for assistance.

"Religious bodies have been in the fore front in assisting the government to bring development to the public, otherwise, some would have gone without education or health services," he noted.

He urged Muslims to forward their requests, noting that his government was ready to work with them to ensure better living standards for the people.

"If you have not forwarded your requests, do not blame the ones who have. Forward your requests and when you are denied, fight to get your rights," he stressed.

The president also stressed that the Kadhi's court will be established and manned by Muslims themselves and will not be parallel to the normal judicial system.

HELL and HEAVEN, The difference

The story of Holy man and God.

A holy man was speaking to the Lord one day and asked Him the
difference between Heaven and Hell. "Come I'll show you" said the Lord
as he led the man up to two doors.

He pushed open the first door and they entered a large room.
A group of people were sitting around a large table. And on the table was
a large pot filled with delicious stew. the aroma made the holy man's
mouth water  but he noticed that the people looked famished and sickly.

They were all holding spoons with long handles strapped to their arms.
While they could all reach out and take spoonfuls of the delicious stew
from the pot, they could not put them into their mouths, as the handles were
longer than their arms.
Their suffering was unbearable, made worse by the wonderful aroma.
"That's hell!" said the Lord.

"Now let's look at heaven" he said, leading the man through the second door
into another identical room. Same round table. Same pot of stew. Same aroma
that made the holy man's mouth water.

Here too the people at the table had long spoons strapped to their arms. but
they all looked healthy and happy and were laughing and enjoying themselves.

"I don't get it" said the holy man. "Similar rooms, tables, pots, the same
stew and identical long spoons. How come these guys are plump and happy,
while those people were starved and sad?"

"Simple" said the Lord. "These people have learnt to feed each other.
The greedy think only of themselves" End of story.

Someone has rightly said 'You can achieve all your goals if only you help
enough other people achieve their goals. Winning teams and winners are
really all about people feeding each other. About putting other people's
needs and interests before your own.

"They have the class and they punished (humiliated) us 8-2"

Wayne Rooney scored the sixth hat-trick of his Old Trafford career as United went back to the top of the table and left Wenger facing a growing crisis.

"Of course you feel humiliated when you concede eight goals. It was a terrible day, I feel terribly painful about it.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "He has been a big adversary and will continue to be when he gets his big players back."

 Wenger 'hurt' by humiliating defeat
Wenger insists it is too early to judge whether his summer transfer policy of so far failing to line up replacements for the departed Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, but he is now battling to sign urgently needed replacements before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.

He expects to complete the signing of Monaco's South Korean striker Park Chu-Young on Sunday and also wants to sign a central defender and midfielder.

After Arsenal's worst defeat since 1896, Wenger - who once again stressed he would not quit - said: "I do feel it was under special circumstances. We had a lot players out and we have played only five games. It is not the end of the season where you make a balance of everything."

Ferguson delighted with rampant Man Utd
He added: "We collapsed physically towards the end but we had eight players out."

Wenger will now face an increasing clamour to strengthen his threadbare squad, and said: "We have to find the right players and if we do we will sign them. We have the money and if we find players to strengthen the team we will do it. If we don't do it, it is because we haven't found them."

Arsenal are now likely to renew their interest in Bolton's Gary Cahill after having a bid turned down - but Wenger accepts the criticism he is currently suffering.

"I'm in a public job." he said. "And I have to accept that. I try to make the right decisions and the two players we sold (Fabregas and Nasri) I brought them to the club. In 15 years I have brought some good players.

"You know me, so you should give me some more time to see if I have got it completely wrong."

Ferguson offered words of comfort when he said: "We live in a cynical world these days and the media are so cut throat. It is hard to understand at times.
"But the job he has done for 15 years now is phenomenal and he has introduced a philosophy of football and a way of playing and has brought in entertaining players and has sold fantastically well and I respect that."

Gaddafi 'seen in Zimbabwe on Mugabe's private jet'

Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has fled Libya to Zimbabwe on a jet provided by Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe, it was claimed today, as rebels began the march on his home town.
President Mugabe's political opponents claim their spies saw Gaddafi arrive in the country on a Zimbabwe Air Force jet in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
They say the Libyan dictator was taken to a mansion in Harare's Gunninghill suburb, where agents from his all-female bodyguard were apparently seen patrolling the grounds.

There's no doubt that Gaddafi is here as a 'unique guest' of Mugabe,' a spokesman for Zimbabwe's opposition Movement for Democratic Change told the Sun.
If he has left Libya, Gaddafi could have fled from an airbase in his home town of Sirte, which has been bombarded by Nato warplanes in recent days.

Pato la Mtanzania, nini maoni yako??

Mineral occurrence in Tanzania by TMAA

UONGEZAJI WA PATO LA MTANZANIA
Mheshimiwa Spika,

              i.      Dar es Salaam   -           Shilingi 1,740,947
            ii.      Iringa                 -           Shilingi  979,882
           iii.        Arusha               -           Shilingi  945,437
           iv.       Mbeya                -           Shilingi  892,877
            v.       Kilimanjaro        -           Shilingi  879,432
           vi.        Ruvuma              -           Shilingi  866,191
          vii.       Mwanza              -           Shilingi  829,647
        viii.       Manyara              -           Shilingi  772,364
           ix.      Tanga                  -           Shilingi  763,203
            x.      Morogoro            -           Shilingi  744,234
           xi.      Rukwa                -           Shilingi  726,658
          xii.     Mtwara               -           Shilingi  700,436
        xiii.      Lindi                    -           Shilingi  673,096
        xiv.      Mara                   -           Shilingi  642,528
          xv.     Pwani                  -           Shilingi  572,466
        xvi.     Tabora                -           Shilingi  528,832
       xvii.     Shinyanga        -           Shilingi  510,023
      xviii.     Kigoma              -           Shilingi  499,428
        xix.     Kagera               -           Shilingi  491,713
          xx.     Dodoma             -           Shilingi  485,211
        xxi.      Singida              -           Shilingi  483,922

Mheshimiwa Spika,

From: PM Mizengo Pinda speech of August 26, 2011

Takwimu hizi zaonesha ama kuashiria nini? kama hali ndo hii kwanini watu woote wasikimbilie Dar? maana ndo kwenye unafuu ati! wewe wasemaje? toa maoni yako tafadhari.

Just thinking aloud,

Breaking Nyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuzi! Col Gadhafi yuko Zimbabwe

It official; Col Muammar Gaddafi is now a guest of Zimbabwean despot Robert Mugabe in Harare, but activists of the Movement for Democratic Change, the MDC Veterans Activists Association (VAA) have called on Zimbabweans to storm the house in the Gunhill suburb of Harare to effect a mass citizens' arrest.

In a statement today the VAA said Gaddafi staged a nocturnal entry into Zimbabwe aboard a Zimbabwe Air force jet that landed at Suri-Suri Airbase in Chegutu at 01:07am on Wednesday morning.

“He was quickly whisked to a sprawling mansion in Harare’s Gunhill suburb under the cover of darkness with members of MDC VAA in a secret pursuit.

“We kept a hawk’s eye on the house since Wednesday until this morning (Friday) and we don’t doubt even for a second that the fallen despot is now a ‘unique guest’ to Robert Mugabe.

"The house is encircled by uniformed army personnel of the Zimbabwe National Army and is swarming with plain clothes policemen and dreaded CIO operatives.”

They said all indications were confirming what they saw, including heavily armed female blonde body guards of Libyan origin patrolling around the house where the former despot is holed up.

They also have clear video footages to back our claims. The suspicious female imposters in military attire are patrolling the vicinity with fingers on the trigger.

There has been a hive of activities since the arrival of Gaddafi in the Gunhill house as luxurious government vehicles speed in and out of ‘brother leader’s new compound’.

All roads passing near the house were blocked since Wednesday morning, literally slapping the neighbor with a curfew.

MDC VAA National Chairman Solomon Sox Chikohwero said they were giving Gaddafi a week to leave Zimbabwe from today (Friday).

“This country is not a haven for dictators.  We have two so far, who we cannot afford even for one day, and the third one is obviously an additional encumber to our burden.

“If he fails to do so we shall be storming t hat house in our thousands and effect a mass citizen arrest and hand him over to the ICC (International Criminal Court) in Hague.

“No sane Zimbabwe security personnel will arrest or shoot us in defense of a dejected and rejected dictator,” he said.

Ex IMF Chief's charges dismissed, What next?

Ex - IMF chief with JK in Dar, March 2008 during CHANGES MEETING

Nafissatou Diallo, (33)

The coda to one of New York’s most gripping and erratic criminal dramas lasted all of 12 minutes.
A prosecutor spoke first, quickly summarizing what had been obvious for weeks: the Manhattan district attorney’s office had little confidence in its case, and even less trust in the accuser it had initially championed. A defense lawyer was next, saying simply, “We do not oppose the motion.”
Then the judge spoke.
And just like that, the sexual-assault case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn was dismissed Tuesday, bringing an abrupt end to what had been a three-month episodic criminal investigation, each chapter offering a sensational twist on the underlying storyline: Mr. Strauss-Kahn, a man of international power and prestige, was accused of sexually assaulting an immigrant hotel housekeeper after she entered his suite to clean it.
The dismissal order issued by Justice Michael J. Obus of State Supreme Court in Manhattan brought some semblance of legal vindication to Mr. Strauss-Kahn, 62, after his stunning and embarrassing arrest more than three months ago. He was taken into custody on May 14 aboard an Air France jet at Kennedy International Airport, and then appeared disheveled and in handcuffs before news cameras.
After the hearing Tuesday, Mr. Strauss-Kahn issued his first statement since his arrest, characterizing the criminal inquiry as “a nightmare for me and my family” and thanking the judge, his own wife, Anne Sinclair, and family and other supporters.
He added, “Finally, we are obviously gratified that the district attorney agreed with my lawyers that this case had to be dismissed,” and said he looked “forward to returning to our home and resuming something of a more normal life.”
One of Mr. Strauss-Kahn’s lawyers, Benjamin Brafman, said he expected his client to go to Washington, where he and his wife have owned a home for several years, to straighten out some personal matters.
“Until today, it was very hard to plan Dominique’s future,” Mr. Brafman said, noting that the prospect of many months of preparation and trial had loomed large. “You can think about what you want to do, but you had the threat of prison hanging over your head.”
For the accuser, Nafissatou Diallo, a 33-year-old Guinean immigrant, the result caps a precipitous fall. Prosecutors initially portrayed her as a credible and powerful witness, but then said that her myriad lies about her past — including a convincing, emotional but ultimately fraudulent account of being gang-raped by soldiers in Guinea — ended up undermining the case.

Jairo apokewa kishujaa

With reported pockets of fighting remaining in Tripoli on Wednesday, the whereabouts of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi were still not known.
Rebels seized Gadhafi’s vast compound on Tuesday. Celebratory gunfire was virtually nonstop as rebels streamed in and out of the compound, many leaving with weapons and ammunition seized from the complex.
A senior NATO official warned that the war "is not over yet, although it's close."
"We continue to watch for flare-ups from around the country, where there are still going to be pockets of resistance," the official said. "We are also watching the chemical weapons and Scud missiles to make sure they are not used in the endgame."
Here are the latest developments:
[Updated 4:55 a.m. ET, 10:55 a.m. Wednesday in Libya] Russia will consider establishing relations with the Libyan "insurgents" if they have enough strength to consolidate the country on a democratic footing, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said, according to the Russian news agency Interfax.
[Updated 4:35 a.m. ET, 10:37 a.m. Wednesday in Libya] In addition to casualties among rebel and government forces, civilians have also been wounded, "which is quite a concern for us," said Robin Waudo, spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Tripoli. He said he was not able to release a casualty toll.
Waudo also said some health workers are not coming to work because of the precarious situation in Tripoli.
[Updated 3:37 a.m. ET, 9:37 a.m. Wednesday in Libya] CNN's Matthew Chance says pro-Gadhafi guards who had been in the Rixos hotel's lobby armed with assault rifles have largely disappeared from the lobby. But he said international journalists are still not able to leave the hotel.
A meeting of international leaders Wednesday would focus on organizing aid for Libya. The meeting will include officials from the National Transitional Council, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Italy, France, the United Kingdom and Turkey, said Mahmoud Jibril of the NTC. The aid money would go toward paying salaries for Libyans and covering medical treatment for those injured in the fighting, he said.
Rebels fully controlled the airport but were struggling to control an area east of it early Wednesday. The unexpected resistance caused them to speculate that loyalists could be protecting a high-profile figure in the vicinity.

Women who travel for sex

Waliingizia taifa dola ngapi?

Women seeking beach boys

In winter, a tourist woman's fancy lustily turns to thoughts of sex. By the thousands they descend on the Caribbean every year, women driven by one urge: to spend a week or two sleeping with local "beach boys" and paying them back in drinks, meals, gifts and cash. READ MORE...

It is Saturday evening and this writer and a friend decide to go out for a beer. We choose the Q-Bar in Msasani, which comes highly recommended for its live music. The bar is packed with revellers from all walks of life. We sit at a corner and chat as we wait for our drinks. After a while, a mixed race couple catches our attention.

Beauty and the beast?
She is a blonde mzungu aged around 30, looking like she weighs almost 200 kilos. Back home in Germany, she would be considered ugly. Her escort, a beefy, dreadlocked Tanzanian in his early 20s, obviously doesn’t mind. He kisses and hugs her repeatedly and it is obvious that both are aglow with happiness. Is it real love? My friend and I wonder. Is he trying to make her fall in love to benefit from her wealth? Did she pay him to be her date?

In recent years, Tanzania has become more popular as a tourist destination and the number of sex tourists has also risen. Sex tourists frequently visit Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Moshi.

Most of these mzungu women do not meet European standards of beauty, and many of them are severely overweight. Back home, it is likely that they would have problems finding a boyfriend or husband due to their weight.
But it is different in Tanzania where men prefer women with curves, as it is a sign of wealth and health. In addition, there are quite a number of Tanzanian men who dream of marrying a mzungu to escape poverty. “I don’t care if she is stupid or ugly,” a taxi driver once told me. “I just want to settle in a country like Sweden or Germany to start a better life.”

Some mzungu women accept this scenario because from the exchange, they get what could pass for love, and of course, sex. In these couplings of convenience, both parties are happy but for different reasons.

Marie*, a 21-year-old from Germany says she fell in love with Hamisi*, a 32-year-old safari guide from Moshi. She is happy that she finally found love. “I never had a boyfriend in Germany. Men didn’t like me back home because of my weight.” Marie weighs 110 kilos and has suffered from depression and self-esteem issues since she was a teenager. But things changed when she came to Tanzania.

Marie and Hamisi met at the La Liga Club in Moshi. “As soon as I saw her I knew she was the one. I have never seen such a beauty in my life!” Hans says.

“When I am with him I feel like a queen,” Marie says. He made me feel beautiful and desirable for the first time in my life.” Before Hamisi, she had never met a guy before who showered her with so many compliments. The couple is planning to get married and settle in Germany. “I asked my father to offer Hamisi a job at his company,” Marie says.

Women like Marie are easy targets because of their lust for love. “The way these guys seduce you makes it so hard for a sexually active woman to say no,” says Jane*, a 58-year-old British widow that this writer met at the Sea Cliff hotel in Masaki. Jane* visits Tanzania three times a year to visit her Tanzanian boyfriend. He is 21. She knows that it would not be as easy for a woman her age to find such a young boyfriend in Britain. According to Jane*, it’s not all about love.

“I met a woman who told me that she is just visiting Tanzania to get good sex and nothing else. And I can understand where she is coming from.”
Reports show that women from Europe, especially Italians and Dutch women, frequently fly to East Africa on sex tourism missions.

“When beach boys see a single female tourist, they approach and ask for money in exchange of sex. When tourists approach these boys, sex for cash exchanges occur too,” a hotel manager in Bagamoyo told this writer.

CHEKA UNENEPE, Wahaya wana watani wengi jamani!

It worth reading the story; Swali moja majibu kibao.
Doctor : What happened to your arm?
Rwegumiza : I broke it.
Doctor : Where and How did that happen?
Rwegumiza : Okey. It was a normal Saturday afternoon.I was on the second floor balcony of that my house in Oysterbay, not the one in Msasani slip...
Doctor : Is that where you broke your arm,the balcony?
Rwegumiza : No no ... I was sipping that my scotch whisky slowly... you know my son recently came from the UK and he brought me some blue label.Anyway...as I continued sipping, I realised that the sun's rays were not getting directly to me, as the satellite dish was blocking them. Before I could instruct the domestic engineer to automatically turn away the dish, my butler James came up the balcony and informed me that there was this call on my social cellular phone, Nokia N91 new generation . I reminded him to always bring the cellular up instead of calling me. As I hurried down the marble escalator ...
Doctor : I guess that is when you...
Rwegumiza : No, as I was going down I noticed the garage door was open and a car alarm was on. I stopped to check and indeed the new model Prado was missing. I knew Mama Koku my beautiful second wife had taken it.Koku is our second daughter, now in Boston USA and is named after my late grandmother, who passed away in 1972 after a sort illness.
I have always warned Mama Koku never to use the 4 by 4 on weekends, because of the recent spate of car-jackings. I always advise her to either use the Mercedes 230E or the BMW 325I which are not very attractive for thugs. That reminds me, I will have to tell my secretary to call "car-track " first thing on Monday -Jowa! I need to update my mobility inventory with them.So as I was saying....
Doctor : (With some laughter) Yes Mr Rwegumiza, car theft incidences are rising and it is becoming a dangerous place. But how did you break your arm?
Rwegumiza : Yes I was coming to that. On my way to pick the cell tel I heard a hissing sound. I stopped to check where it was coming from. Ahh, it was from the bathroom. Mama Koku, for some reason, had left the Jacuzzi on.Luckily the temp and speed were at the minimum. I usually recommend such speed and temp so that we do not overload the UPS support system , especially when our son's home theatre system is on .
Doctor : Mr Rwegu...
Rwegumiza : Just wait... So I when I picked up the phone, I said Hello,Hello...Hello, but nothing. I became upset because I think the caller from state house had disconnected, I cant understand why he didn't leave a message after the beep. All my un-answered calls including the car mobiles are automatically redirected to a CAMS system. Doc, a CAMS is a "Central Answering Machine System". Anyway, on my way back I did not notice the protruding wire from the satellite dish. I had on many occasions told Multi Choice to send in a qualified techni...
Doctor : ...is that where you tripped?
Rwegumiza : No, as I was avoiding the wire, I tripped on the Multichoice 250 channel decoder and fell on the 200 year old classical family piano..........
Doctor : Thank you. Such an expensive trip will cost you only 850.
Rwegumiza: hands over the money excitedly...)
Doctor: Not Tanzanian shillings, Dollars!
Rwegumiza : Aii....maweeee.....then I shall write you a cheque drawn from my overseas account with Fast Boston Bank Massachussets....you can not go wrong on that one
Kumbe Rwegumiza is a "desk officer" at Temeke Municipal Council

RIGHT TO BE RICH

RIGHT TO BE RICH
The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way, and those who do things in this certain way — whether on purpose or accidentally — get rich, while those who do not do things in this certain way — no matter how hard they work or how able they are — remain poor.
