Bernard -- Three days from now, on Tuesday, January 25th, I will stand before Congress and the country to discuss the State of the Union. Two years ago, when I first addressed a joint session of Congress, this country faced a crisis unlike anything since the Great Depression -- an economy that had spiraled out of control, putting millions out of work. Today, we're in a different place. An economy that was shrinking is now growing again. But across the country, millions are struggling every day -- to find work, to pay their bills, to provide for their families. It is clear that the moment we now face demands a vision for how we as a people will win the future. And that vision -- that agenda -- will be the topic of my State of the Union address. As the messengers, volunteers, and organizers of this movement, you will play a critical role in carrying out that agenda. Because of that, I want you to have an advance look at what I'll ask of Congress on Tuesday. I've recorded a short video to share that message with you. Please click here to watch it.
Watch the message from President Obama
I will talk to the nation about how we can win the future by out-innovating, out-educating, and out-building the rest of the world. By dealing with our deficits and our debt in a responsible way, and reforming government so that it's leaner and smarter for the 21st century. How we continue to keep America safe and advance our interests around the world. But we can do it only if we all work together. I've recorded this video so that we all know what's at stake and we're ready for the work to come. Will you take a minute to watch it? http://my.barackobama.com/SOTUpreview Thank you, Barack

Mwishoe mtoto akamshauri babaye, akamwambia- "Baba kwanini usimbebe yule ndama? kwani mamaye atakufuta tu"

On Friday, 14th May, 3,000 Distributors from across Africa joined together to celebrate their successes with Forever Living Products at the African Rally 2010 event.
And what was phenomenal about the weekend? Perhaps it was the huge amount of recognitions that demonstrated the staggering growth in Africa over 2009, and the sheer dedication and commitment of the African Distributors over this period.
With 200 New Managers recognised, 63 Senior Managers, 18 Soaring Managers, 14 Sapphire Managers and 2 Diamond Managers, there is no doubt that things were happening in Africa last year.
Perhaps it was the 208 cheques offered for Distributors who qualified for Profit Share? With $2,117,668.61 given away through the incentive, Distributors received Profit Share cheques that ranged from $3,000.00 to a whopping $250,000.00 and above!
Perhaps it was the many dynamic entertainment acts; the thought provoking testimonials; the informative trainings from Top Distributors from across Africa, and even from across the globe? Whatever made the African Rally phenomenal, it was yet again another event that reflected the high energy that lies beneath the Company, and its power to change people’s lives for the better.
The location for the next African Rally was revealed. In May 2011, qualifying Distributors will be jetting off to Cape Town! For more information

My take:

DOWANS (T) Ltd OWNERS!!

THE National Power Utility company (Tanesco), will have to pay Dowans Holdings SA (Costa Rica) the sum total of 94bn/- following recent ruling by the International Court of Arbitration, the government has announced.
Addressing media conference in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, the Minister for Energy and Minerals, William Ngeleja, said the amount was way below the much publicised figures that stood at 186.5bn/-.
“The decision is painful to all of us (Tanzanians) but since the contract was legally binding and the decision was not in our (government) favour, the payment will have to be honoured,” Ngeleja explained.
However, the minister was explicit on the pre-condition leading to the payment to Dowans saying that the legal requirements and the nature of contract signed required that payment(s) would only be honoured after registration of claims at the High Court of Tanzania.
Asked why not file an appeal for further legal battle and possibly avert the staggering loss, the minister said after consultations with legal experts including the Attorney General, Mr Frederick Werema, it was decided that appeal for the case was not an option.
The minister also made public names of six directors of Dowans Tanzania Limited. According to official letter Reference Number MITM/ RC/58550/22 from the Business Registration and Licensing Authority, BRELA, dated January 05, 2011, the directors are Andrew James Tice (Canadian), Gopalkrishnan Balachandran (Indian) and Hon Sung Woo (Singaporean). Others are Guy ArthurPicard (Canadian), Sulaiman Mohammed Yahaya (Omani) and Stanley Munai (Kenyan). Asked how come the entire list of directors comprised of foreigners while investment procedures require local partnership, the minister said the power crisis was not planned for and the entire project was handled with urgency and the crisis could not wait for identification of local partners.
It was explained that the directors of Dowans Tanzania Limited operated under the framework of the percentage of share holdings such that Dowans Holdings S.A (Costa Rica) has 81 shares while Portek Systems and Equipment PTE Limited owned 54 shares. Source: Daily News
