Unclaimed bikes off to Tanzania
An African charity run by a Faughart priest got a boost last week thanks to Dundalk Gardaí – and a bunch of unclaimed bikes.
Bikes, which have been sitting at the station for months, have been given to Fr Christy McElwee for his Tanzanian communitybuilding charity.
Gardaí made a police property application to Dundalk District Court last week asking that the bikes be given to Fr McElwee for his charity.
The bikes will make a huge difference to the people of rural Tanzania, according to Fr McElwee, who got involved in the Rosminian Order-led charity about five years ago.
But it will take some more fundraising to get the much-needed bicycles to their final destination.

RIGHT TO BE RICH

RIGHT TO BE RICH
The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way, and those who do things in this certain way — whether on purpose or accidentally — get rich, while those who do not do things in this certain way — no matter how hard they work or how able they are — remain poor.
