Mwandishi wa vitabu Carol Dweck amejaribu kuelezea katika kitabu chake cha Mindset sababu mbalimbali za kwanini-
- Akili na Kipawa amam kipaji pekee haviwezi kumletea mtu mafanikio,
- au ni jinsi vinaweza kusababisha mtu kutokufanikiwa,
- na je ni kwanini kupongeza hivyo tu hakuleti utashi wa ndani ama mafanikio bali kuyahatarisha tu,
- na je ni jinsi gani kwa kumfundisha mtu ama kuifunza akili wazo dogo tu kwaweza kupandisha kiwango cha ufanisi wa akili na kuleta uzalishaji zaidi.
Mwandshi Dweck anatanabaisha kuwa kuna mawazo mgando fixed mindset na mawazo endelevu ama Growth Mindset, "In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities,
like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They spend their
time documenting their intelligence or talent instead of developing them. They
also believe that talent alone creates success—without effort. They’re wrong."
Mfano wa picha hapo juu ni sawa na watu wenye Fikra ama mawazo mgando, Tembo hawa wa India wakiwa wadogo ufungwa na mnyororo huo na kigingi hicho, kwa sababu wanakuwa wadogo wanakuwa hawawezi kujinasua katika kigingi hicho, watajaribu mara kadhaa wakishindwa wanaacha, wanakata tamaa, wanaamini kuwa hawawezi, kwa wakati huo kwao kinakuwa ni kikubwa na hakiwezekani.
Kuna msemo kuwa "Tembo uwa hasahau" hivyo ata anakupokuwa mkubwa kama nyumba anafungwa katika kigingi kile kile na kwa sababu hasau, Tembo huyo hatofanya juhudi yoyote kujinasua hapo japo hakika anaweza akiamua kwa sababu angali anakumbuka kwamba alipokuwa mdogo kilimshinda, hivyo tembo huyu atatulia hapo hapo muda wote mpaka mtu aje amfungue.
Dale Canergie anasema,

Kwa maana nyingine ni kwamba kushindwa jambo fulani, iwe masomo, biashara, fursa au mahusiano mara moja au mbili hata tatu si kushindwa bali ni kujifunza, kwamba kushindwa huko ndio ngazi ya wewe kuelekea mafanikio, mgunduzi wa taa hizi za umeme Thomas Edson alijaribu mara zaidi ya 999 kabla ya kufanikiwa kugundua taa hizi tutumiazo sasa, lakini yeye anasema, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't
work."
Kama Tembo Je ni wangapi wameendelea kushikiria mapokeo ama mtazamo kwamba hili haliwezekani ama siliwezi, kwa sababu tu ama walijaribu wakashindwa tena mara moja au mbili tu? au kujaribu jambo ama fursa mpya tofauti na mazoea ama mapokea au mitazamo mgando, huku wakijinadi kuwa wanaishi katika karne ya Sayansi ya Teknolojia ya Habari na Mawasiliano ama Information Age?. Jibu utakuwa nalo msomaji.
Katika mawazo endelevu anasema "In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic
abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent
are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a
resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Virtually all great
people have had these qualities."
Hawa si watu waliokubali kuwa kigingi hiki hawakiwezi, wamejaribu tena na tena, wamejifunza na hawakukata tamaa na hatimaye ndio kundi la watu wenye mafanikio duniani.
