ATCL Angani tena

Kigoma. Resumption of services by the Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) has impressed residents of four regions of Burundi,  who said yesterday that it would ease their travel arrangements.Speaking at Kigoma airport yesterday during the ATCL inaugural flight, the governor (equivalent to regional commissioner) for Makamba Province in Burundi, Mr Niyayubaye Vicent, said it would now be easy for the residents of the four provinces which border Kigoma to travel by ATCL from Kigoma.

“It takes only 40 minutes drive by bus from Makamba to Kigoma to catch an ATCL flight while it is more than 170 kilometres to Bujumbura (Burundi capital). It is now easier to travel through Kigoma from our area,” he said.

Mr Vicent is leading a team of governors from four provinces in Burundi who have been invited by Kigoma regional commissioner, Lt Col (retired) Issa Machibya, to participate in celebrations to mark the country’s 50th independence anniversary.
